HME Features Software Upgrade and New Mobile Intercom System At ETS-LDI

At the 2005 ETS-LDI trade show, HM Electronics, Inc. (HME) features a software upgrade for its PRO850 system and introduces the Wireless DX100 Mobile Intercom System.

PRO850 Software v3.0
In the pro audio world, applications can involve numerous people and steps, the the award-winning PRO850 wireless intercom system supports this level of technical sophistication. The new PRO850 Software is designed to help users get the most out of their PRO850 system with much less effort and time. The new Version 3.0 Software features a setup “wizard” that guides a user through the PRO850 system configuration process and expedites the setup process.

“Our goal is to create a software that will make it as easy as possible for our customers to do their jobs,” says J. Michael Hughes, vice president and general manager of HME’s professional audio division. “Users can easily learn how to configure the PRO850 Wireless System for their specific application.”

HME’s new software also enables the user to configure the PRO850 System online or offline, making it more convenient for users to work at a remote location if needed. Additionally, the setup wizard features help buttons on each screen that link to the new HTML system to provide the user further technical assistance.

HME took ideas from many of the advanced features for the new version directly from end users, through a special “Power User” forum hosted by HME and its exclusive affiliate, Audio Specialties Group (ASG).

Wireless DX100 Mobile Intercom
HME also introduces the Wireless DX100 mobile intercom system for multi-purpose use at its booth.

The DX100 operates outside of crowded UHF and VHF bands eliminating static and interference. This frequency-hopping spread spectrum system with digital encryption prevents unauthorized personnel from hearing or interrupting communication. Both antenna and time diversity are used to locate the strongest signal and ensure clear concise communication.

“The DX100 operates in the 2.4GHz frequency band which allows for worldwide license- free communication, enabling use of the system in a multitude of diverse locations,” says Rick Molina, professional audio division product manager, HME. “This also means that people in need of wireless communication won’t have to spend additional time or money to license the system.”

Additional features include voice prompts, such as audible low battery, out-of-range, and other operational messages. The base station user can also unlatch all beltpacs if one of the users has removed it and forgotten to unlatch their transmitter. The system includes a DX100 base station, headsets, DX200 beltpacs with rechargeable batteries and pouches, and a battery charger. The expandable system can work with up to fifteen beltpacs in full-duplex mode with as many as four actively transmitting. The system operates on six AA batteries.
